Undercover?
When a viewer at the Dolby Labs screening of “Wassup Rockers” asked about whether Larry Clark felt in any danger filming in a neighborhood where shootings are commonplace, Clark offered the story of how one of his friends was approached by a local gang banger who wanted to know who the white guy who’d been hanging around was. After assurances that Clark “was cool” the man admitted that he had thought Clark was an undercover cop and that he’d been planning to shoot him. (Photo and reporting by Tom Erikson)
