School's out
The students featured in Debra Chasnoff’s new film Straightlaced: How Gender’s Got Us All Tied Up received a standing ovation from a sold-out crowd of 750 people at the world premiere January 14th at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. San Francisco Unified School District Superintendent Carlos Garcia opened up the event, which was a fundraiser to bring the film to hundreds of communities and classrooms across the country. " “I applaud this film because it brings forward the discussion that needs to happen in every community and in every school… to lift kids up to realize its OK to be who you want to be," said Garcia.
