E-casting 'AMERICANese'
Actors Greg Watanabe and Sab Shimono (“AMERICANese”) share a laugh with Pearl Wong at the Q&A following the SFIAAFF opening night screening. Director Eric Byler mentioned that he’d advertised for the lead on craigslist, and Shimono later laughed, “I wish I had known about craigslist!” He said he’s been in the business for 40 years and this kind of film for this kind of audience is what he wanted all along.
