"Amreeka" benefits Arab Film Fest
Michel Shehadeh, executive director of the Arab Film Festival and Cherien Dabis, director of Amreeka, opening next month in the Bay Area, were greeted by an enthusiastic sell-out crowd at the preview, AFF benefit screening of Dabis’s debut feature. National Geographic Entertainment is distributing the culture-clash dramedy about a single mother and teenage son who emigrate from the West Bank to small-town Illinois.
