A trip down Market street
At a recent SFFS FilmHouse open house Christian Bruno showed a short clip from Strand: A Natural History of Cinema, his nearly-completed film about the rise and demise of San Francisco’s movie theater culture. This shot from the ’50s looking west from Market at Sixth Street shows the plethora of movie theater marquees that lit up the night.
