Blogerazzi: SF International Asian American Film Festival

Jennifer Young, reporting: Wow—we actually found parking on Castro Street and went straight to Kasa Indian Eatery to grab some restorative Chai tea and a couple of their very fast and tasty Kati Rolls. Ten minutes later we’re done and head up the block to the theater to catch the opening night red carpet arrivals for the SF International Asian American Film Festival. It was a chilly evening, but you could still feel some true electricity emanating from the cheerful mob out front. The ticket-holders line and the rush line snaked in opposite directions, filling the entire street. Awesome festival volunteers were everywhere: directing traffic; selling t-shirts; keeping the towering, wind-whipped Zip car flagpoles from toppling over onto the crowd; and being genuinely helpful and friendly. We caught some of this year’s special guest film dignitaries:
